Live-Connected: The Law of Sowing & Reaping

Living-Connected in a way that heals will produce a REWARDING LIFE here and beyond. Let me explain…

The Bible calls it The Law of Sowing and Reaping!

Hinduism calls it Karma!

Others just understand it as a natural human law that says “What Goes Around Comes Around” or use to say that if someone treats other people badly he or she will eventually be treated badly by someone …eventually.

The Bible frequently addresses the theme of sowing and reaping in Galatians 7:7-8. To reap is “to gather a crop” and to sow, “to plant seeds.” Throughout versions of the Bible, sowing is used as a metaphor for one’s actions and reaping for the results of those actions. The term “sowing” refers to the act of planting a seed and “reaping” refers to the harvest produced by that seed or act.

Hinduism identifies “Karma” as the relationship between a person’s mental or physical action and the consequences following that action. The term “Karma” connects actions and results. Good and bad happenings experienced in this life are aggregate results of deeds in this and previous lives. Therefore, Karma is a reciprocal concept including both action and intent.

The expression later came to be used outside of religious contexts, often in politics, business, and as general wisdom. Now, the concept of you reap what you sow has achieved proverbial status. Whether you believe in God or not, the principle of sowing and reaping applies to all. This is a law of life. God has built this into the fabric of creation in order to deliver a response to the way we live and connect with one another.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” ~Galatians 6:9

We all intuitively understand that our actions have consequences, whether positive or negative. Right now, you are planting seeds through the way you live-connected with others that will one day be accounted for.

We agree with Dr. Larry Crabb who said that “when two people connect with the soul, something is poured out of one and into the other that has the power to heal the soul of its deepest wounds and restore it to health. The one who receives experiences the joy of being healed. The one who gives knows the even greater joy of being used to heal.”

Connected in this way, that heals, embodies the law of sowing and reaping.  This healing interaction with someone who is hurting and broken in the way that is outlined in our Live-Connected Steps is a gift to someone that is rewarded now in this life and in the life after we leave this world.

Who around you can you bless with this gift of healing connection that will bring such HUGE blessings and rewards back to you?

This law has helped us understand better that the scales of justice for pain, suffering, good, and evil in this world will be accounted for and redeemed. No one gets away with causing harm, and no one who suffers or brings healing to the suffering goes unrewarded.  And…we all have the power to bring healing to the hurting soul through living-connected!

What relationship do have that is a bit broken? Which stranger will you bump into today that needs your loving gift of soul-healing connection…where you notice them; make time for them to tell their story; be totally present with them while you listen with interest and curiosity; where they feel understood and valued as you sit in their pain with them; where they are encouraged by your kind words; and where they have a chance to hear how connecting with God is where the real healing takes place?

Go bless someone today and reap the rewards both now and later!
